The Slovakian composer, guitarist and singer/songwriter Dana Tupinambá has been living in Vienna since 1998 and has certainly become one of the most interesting artists of today. Born and raised in Košice as the daughter of a poet and accordionist, she started playing the guitar at the age of 10 and wrote her first songs at age of 14.

 

The roots of her music can be found in Brazilian music, jazz, folk, psych folk, baroque and early music, as well as in impressionism, Portuguese fado, blues and rock. She is also dedicated to composing film and stage music and teaching.
