Peter Engl is a native Tyrolean and started at the age of 8 years to play with the accordion, later he also took clarinet lessons. In 1990, he bcame a member of the military music Tyrol, where he first took up study opportunities at the State Conservatory of Tyrol. In 1993, clarinet studies at the Conservatory of Feldkirch (A) with Prof. Georg Vinciguerra, in 1998 studies in composition with a special focus on film music in Schaffhausen (CH) with David Angel (USA) and in 2000 postgraduate studies in audio-design at the Academy of Music in St. Gallen (CH ) with Dr. Christoph Schnell. He is the winner of several composition competitions, including the composition competition NRW 2004. Currently, he is a music teacher at the MS Sarganserland and Unterrheintal (CH) and since 2005 he studies composition at the Vorarlberg Conservatory with Herbert Willi.

My way of composing likes to include any direction which might be suitable to my musical ideas. Whether structural or chaotic, this does not matter. Likewise, traditional and purely experimental stylistic means are allowed. However, it remains the first priority, that the music remains in a state of flux.
