Press Reviews

2009

Muthspiel possesses all the intellectual and technical capabilities needed for using them such moments of magic.

Die Presse (Samir H. Köck)

2009

At last solo again – full of emotion, fine rhythms and gorgeous esprit in his play. Chord by chord. In one of his musical solo-attempts at Porgy & Bess Wolfgang Muthspiel guided us into his wonderful world of multilayered guitar sounds. This has to happen from time to time. A delicacy of the Jazzfest-Wien-09!

Krone (Verena Kienast)

Muthspiel combines a flawless technique honed by classical training with a restless musical imagination as likely to derive inspiration from Bach as from the blues or the Beatles.

London Times

Wolfgang Muthspiel is a shining light of the contemporary jazz-guitar generation.
