General Information

Year of Foundation:  1995

The Music-Ensemble-Theater was founded by Beate Maria Pomberger and Martin H.W. Thoma and focuses on finding their own interdisciplinary overlappings and combinations in the areas of concert, reading, theater, music theater, etc. This is done in a kind of collage technique, which presents a mix of music and drama, concert performances in semi-staged presentations, recitals combined with literary readings. The results are a highly original and unique dramaturgy, which is characterized by the variety of little-known works by forgotten authors as well as contemporary works of music and literature. Involving an interested audience, this procedure develops and opens a whole new artistic dimension. M.E.T. performs in variable formations of singers, musicians and actors. Highlights of recent performances were the premiere of the chamber opera "What Price Confidene" by E. Krenek at the Prague State Opera, the Georg Trakl program "Ein Rot, das traumhaft dich erschüttert" in the RadioKulturhaus and the premiere of the children's opera "Der kleine Drehorgelspieler" by Karlheinz Schrödl in the WUK Vienna.
