Heginger studied classical solo voice (Konservatorium Wien University) and jazz vocals (University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, degree: Mag.a art.). She works in the fields of early music, contemporary music, pop, freely improvised music, chanson, German popular songs of the 1920s and 30s, and jazz. She taught at the jazz departments of Anton Bruckner University in Linz, at the Swiss Jazz School in Bern, and at the Berlin University of the Arts.
