Born in 1964, Winfried Ritsch has been working in the field of computer music and its technical possibilities since the completion of his educational career at the HTBLVA for telecommunications. He created compositions for tape, radiophonic works, objects, interactive experiments to generate computer music, art projects on the internet, and various sound installations. He developed software and hardware, both on behalf of IRCAM and the IEM as well as conducted independent research and created electronic music devices including cybernetic models.
He completed various concert tours in the field of computer music around Europe and the United States.
Since 1982, Ritsch lives and works in Graz, where he teaches at the Institute for Electronic Music and Acoustics.
