Stadler studied classical concert harp at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, from which she graduated with honors. She went on to study jazz and improvisation in the USA. She has been a freelancer since 1993, and pursues a busy concert career as a soloist, in duets or in trios, working exclusively on her own projects in Europe, the USA, Japan, North Africa and Israel. She holds workshops in the USA and in Europe.
With her own very personal style of musical hand­writing, she combines elements of jazz, classical, world and folk music to create a very touching, innovative harp music which links superlative musicality to technical brilliance while probing the depths of the soul.

 

Monika Stadler belongs to the most important and interesting solo-harpists in Europe.
