Coming from compositions for Jazz-rock, Odd and Funk groups, my style developed into audio-visual media art via minimal music, contemporary instrumental compositions and computer music. During the first stages of my career, I would describe myself as being rhythmic.
However, intensive work with Odds (odd number rhythms and their phrasing) in compositions for Jazz-Rock and Funk groups, minimal music and experimental improvisations with different instrumentation, has influenced my musical expression substantially (1981 - 1990). In addition, I have a permanent interest in combining music with other forms of art, particularly film, video, theatre, dance and the performing arts (1980, 1989-1992, 1997-2001).
Getting further in my studies of composition and music theory, I started writing mostly contemporary music for solo performers and chamber music instrumentation (1985-1987). Long-term foci in electronic music, algorithmic music and multi-channel music in space followed, whereas the interweaving and transformation of instrumental sounds from contemporary music with electronic sound creation was at the centre. Thus, purely electronic and also computer generated instrumental compositions in algorithmic technique developed (1990-1997); subsequently, I worked intensively with real-time processing and interactive music for contemporary instruments - continuing to use algorithmic techniques - and with the combination of contemporary Western compositions and traditional Asian instrumental music (1996-2001).
As a logical result, I am now moving towards media art via interactive, audio-visual works (1998-2002). Videos, interactive, audio-visual performances and installations offer me new ways of expression.

2005
Andreas Weixler's ambient soundtrack employs an "interactive acoustic modulation" to electronically distend a hypnotic vocalization of the word "ouroboros", lending a surprising, otherworldly pathos to the confused destiny of this universalizable petri dish victim.

The third man, Andreas Weixler, managed to create dazzling, fragile sound impressions with his compositions originating from theatre commissions and based on natural instruments.
