Description of Style
Sound compositions instead of tone pitch compositions - the interest is less in the absolute level of the acoustic material, but rather in the color, direction, response to space, mobility - response of the room on the material. Zechberger maintains a fondness for complex structures in the tension between strictly organized order and chaos. The arc of his compositional output ranges from music for solo instruments, chamber music, choral and orchestral works to computer compositions, installations and action music.
