The "Diva of the Unheard" – according to the press – composes by means of the voice and further explores the voice’s boundaries. Her unmistakable works unite musicians from the most diverse musical genres (jazz, classical, electronic, folk music, etc.).
19. March 1990
Elfi Aichinger at the centre: an unbelievable, sound-conscious voice, acting easily in the most remote areas of colour and vitality, putting biting scat next to widely arching lines and incorporates a charming portion of staginess without plump, actionist bluff.
Der Standard (Ljubiš Tošic)
1991
A voice. A grand piano. Inside, outside, danger and passion. Mourning and movement. A chord flies for several hours, over valleys, ranges and worlds. A sound, the sound of a voice gentle and sharp, piercing, pulls up, carries, lifts the silence, and gives it shape and ground. Elfi Aichinger's (first?) solo album is a gem.

31. May 2001
Elfi Aichinger is back! It has been a while since the young composer and singer, who received her Classical music training at the Salzburg Mozarteum, has appeared on the Austrian Jazz scene, where she was like a fresh breeze sweeping the genre with her easygoing, pleasure-oriented way of making music in the mid-1980s.
