Born in 1959, Florian Bramböck studied saxophone at the Innsbruck conservatory, the University of Music in Graz, at the University of Miami and under Ivan Roth in Basel. He is mainly known as a composer for chamber music and orchestral pieces, in addition to his teaching and concerts. His compositions are focused on pieces for brass orchestras. His style differentiates itself from the usual, commercially-oriented arrangements for brass orchestras and attempts to lead this form of music, deeply rooted in Austrian folklore, away from the commercially-folkloristic area via his own compositions.

Bramböck's music is not bulky, not designed on the drawing board. It reflects the stylistic facets, where the son - born to a family of musicians - is at home, the pleasure of the creator, the vitality of the musician and the insights of a pragmatic.
Onlinedienst der Tiroler Tageszeitung (Ursula Strohal)
This is where Bramböck, in his excellent, own compositions and phenomenal saxophone play, keeps picking up the obligatory impulse of "Jesus bleibet meine Freude" - and taking a turn to the left in the direction of Doldinger and Zawinul, using sounds smelling of sweat and life.
Leipziger Volkszeitung (Peter Korfmacher)
An impressive musical performance at the crowded Welser Schlachthof by Jazz Austria's "Saxo Four": the four saxophone players Bramböck, Dickbauer, Maurer and Puschnig united. They do not want to be revolutionaries, nor do they think of a treasure box full of nostalgia. And although they are digging strangely selectively in the past times of Jazz in order to push forward their performance of "Saxfiguren", they never produce a post-stylish mixture. [...] The composition is by Bramböck; additionally one piece by Davis, Dickbauer and Haden each: endearing tunes, jolly pieces in three-fourths, chamber music-oriented, hot stuff, all the saxophones can do.
