Born in 1963. He studied trumpet and composition at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz and at the Vienna Conservatory. Since 1989 lecturer for ensemble direction, composing and arranging at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. As (guest-) soloist in numerous ensembles, partner of internationally known artists (including Elliott Sharp, Joachim Kühn, Otomo Yosihide) and as head of own projects ("Franz Hautzinger Speakers Corner," "Covered Music, Orchestra rain"), he is one of the Austria's most profiled musician-personalities.
