Description of Style

In India my relationship to music and my knowledge about music fundamentally changed: I began to understand that music can have an almost magical effect on people, if it is understood as what it truely is, was and always will be - a "cosmic force", given to us people to find our true selves. This is what I try - whether as a conductor or as a composer - to live up to. I dream of a "re-vitalising" of sound. Therefore composing for me is primarily about the world, life, language of heart, relationship with the cosmos, communication with peole, and not about formal or intellectual problems or solutions. I strongly believe that it is not only the privilege of music from past times to address people, to move them (in the truest sense of the word). For me especially the language of sound of the 20th century - in combination with new perceptions from the humanities and science - hold the measures ready to give the listener access to a whole new world of sound in an exhilarating way. I am working on this - still evolving - "universe of sound" with all available resources I can find.
