Description of Style

Through his sedulous, compositional work, Leonardo Rivadeneira has adopted a style which cannot be determined by a code of ideologically standardised catchphrases. His tonal language intends the melodious singability of all voices striving for continuity and creating a superstructure over all classifications and breaks. His approach to composing is comprehensible and his technique alternates between simple types of polyphony (from parallel movement to free movement) with dense sound, which has to be primarily considered as linear. His rhythmic fantasy is rich in variety and unorthodox. In his vocal works the very expressive and worded text interpretations of profound, spiritual sentiment predominate. To him it is all about the immediate, deconstructive message to the listener free from any abstraction. Personally, I wish his works would get far more exposure, publicity and support.
