Description of Style

My music should entertain the audience as well as give pleasure to the performers. I appreciate the traceability of musical structures and emphasizing serious statements with the (woefully neglected in modern music!) "contrapuntal" style of humor.
However, I have no fear of working with different styles - there is useful and avoidable material everywhere. In general, music for me is a way of communicating - I want to be heard and understood.
The so often desired "innovation" is created only by a statement, not by the choice of material. If a simple C major triad seems to fit, I will use it without any scruples!
