Palmisano was born in Vienna and grew up in Lower Austria and Moscow. She discovered Viennese music and especially the "Wiener Dudler", a cross between yodeling and coloratura that was highly popular in the 19th century but virtually died out afterwards. Her voice rings in the sweetest highs and darkest lows and is capable of giving expression to Vienna’s music like no other: from Mozart to avant garde, folk and art song, Dudler and cabaret chanson.
