Wolfgang Seierl composes in a contemplative, testing and doubting manner. He philosophises and discusses tensions. Abstract signs and patterns out of lines and colours characterise Seierl's sensitive works. These are snapshots behind which stand a powerful world of feelings and a great ability to experience.
Traude Hansen, in: Künstlerlexikon, ORF 1990
The stating and solving of compositional problems follows and results from the coming to terms with daily problems to do with thoughts, feelings and experiences. I trace the complex and contradictory movement and thinking processes, always seeking to phrase the unfathomable, the ambiguous and the complex. I attempt to reach the complex using simple means in my music. The results are "master batches" made up of overlaps, interactions, and non-systematic order, made understandable.
Wolfgang Seierl, 1994
