Stilbeschreibung

Being confronted with predetermined forms forces new content - whereas the direction is focused on the field of tradition alternating between adaptation and dismantling. Openness towards the latest trends measures itself against the evaluation of its own identity: expressive sound and thought-out structures, emotions and experiments with numbers and intervals, consequence and permanent questioning - the vast field of contemporary means of expression has to keep proving itself through compositional forming. (Kurt Estermann, 2002)

Kurt Estermanns third symphony lived on the rhythm-oriented formation of the material and moments of figurative-abstract ambivalence concerning all associations related to neo-classicist expressiveness, while the final part was dominated by prominent rhythm.
