Founded in 2002, the Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum Salzburg is made up of selected instrumentalists and graduates from the Mozarteum University in Salzburg. Many of them have won prizes in national and international competitions, and already play in renowned orchestras.
The horn player Hansjörg Angerer, who is also a professor at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg and at the Nuremberg University of Music, is principal conductor of the orchestra. In various constellations and occasionally with guest conductors the Bläserphilharmonie Mozarteum Salzburg plays contemporary compositions as well as works from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods, and also traditional Austrian music.
