Year of Foundation:  1998


Founded in 1998, the repertoire of the Austrian Chamber Symphony Orchestra includes all musical periods and styles. In addition to numerous concert performances, the orchestra takes occasional excursions to the world of musical theater. One of the main focuses is on music of the 20th century as well as contemporary music. In addition to concerts in Vienna's Musikverein, Vienna Konzerthaus, the Brucknerhaus in Linz, as well as guest performances abroad, the Austrian Chamber Symphony Orchestra performs at festivals such as Wien Modern, Hörgänge, Carinthian Summer, Lower Austrian Danube Festival and the Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt. The varied work of the orchestra led to collaborations with renowned instrumental soloists (Ernst Kovacic, Christain Altenburger, Michael Kofler, Thomas Larcher, Till Alexander Körber), vocal soloists (Pia Douwes, Brigitte Pinter, Claudio Otelli, Peter Köves), conductors (Peter Keuschnig, Tania Leòn) and directors (Robert Wilson, Maxi Tschunko, Michael Scheidl).
