The Tyrolean Ensemble for New Music (TENM) represents a unique ensemble within the Tyrolean music landscape. 23 musicians from the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra, the State Conservatory and various music schools dedicate themselves to contemporary in different instrumentations throughout Tyrol and beyond. The ensemble was founded by the composer Gunther Zechberger in 1984 and evolved into a specialist ensemble for contemporary music. In 2000, it was awarded with the Emil-Berlanda prize of the Tyrol. In 2003, the pianist and conductor Dorian Keilhack became the artistic director. 2004 marked the co-production of 'Stravinsky: Oedipus Rex' with the Augenspieltheater Hall and was celebrated as the best independent theater production in Austria. Concert tours have taken the ensemble to Japan, Turkey, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Italy, USA and Israel. Since 2007 the ensemble is led by the accordionist Harald Pröckl.
