Cone quartet The Cone (contemporary/new) quartet was founded for love of walking the borderline dividing composition, interpretation, and improvisation. It's main emphasis lies on new music and especially on Austrian composers as well as on the tension field between acoustic and electronic music. Using four guitars and their electric equivalents and complementing the array of musical effects with spoken texts, percussion instruments, electronics, tape, and other unconventional means of sound production, the ensemble interprets new music in all of its forms. Though young, it has already given a number of Austrian and international first performances.
