"The world has taken a belated foothold within the virtuality of the computer. Media of all kinds such as online newspapers, Google earth, webcams or social platforms – just to name of few – simulate almost tangible realities behind the screen surface. The computer – as an ultimately versatile tool – can be adapted to any of those manifestations of reality and comply with the respective requirements.
Reciprocally, can the computer as an individual persist within the physical reality? How do communication, representation and adaptation to the unfamiliar habitat work, without internet access, without user intervention?
Equipped only with camera, microphone, screen and loudspeakers and devoid of any prior knowledge the machine tries to make itself part of the environment and get in touch with it. It is a moot question whether it will succeed."
