"This is one of the songs I didn't really intend to write, it just emerged from boredom, so to speak. Ironically that's the kind of song I am most proud of. I was in my mother's house in the countryside and I had just spent a year in Florida studying jazz, so the melodies and chords were still swirling around my head (they still are, in a way). This probably explains why there is a remarkable amount of modulation in the tune (at least by my standards). I wrote the song on the guitar, and later I arranged this keyboard version, which I prefer now. Even though it is very unlikely that anybody except me is ever going to play it, I would like to note, that the song has some rhythmic intricacies, that can provide pleasure if played correctly and with an understanding of the underlying structure, wich is mostly 4 against 3, in different variations. I am talking about bars 3,4,8,10,22,23,51,52,61,62. (please note that bars 8 + 10 are notated in different ways, but they are rhythmically identical. This is to clarify the rhythmic structure). 4 against 3 is something you will find in many of my compositions, because I like it - and I think there should be more of it. Right now I am working on a song that has 5 against 3, and I intend to finish it."
