"Art & Fun is a game in wich more than 80 compositions are juggled ... and the juggler is me. Out of 450+ compositions and arrangements, I chose those works which I think best highlight the specific stylistic ualities of this orchestra. From this selection, I then took various bits and pieces --sometimes longer, sometimes shorter, sometimes repeated -- and, depending on their tempi, grooves, moods and modulations, played them and played with them until they formed a new unity, or Level 1 of ART & FUN.
This second game --- Level 2 of ART& Fun -- features an ongoing give & take between the aoucstic and electric rhythm groups, providing continual changes of mood and a foundation on which, in Level 3, many excellent soloists can build and develop. If you are still not satisfied with the first 3 Levels, then go to Level 4 of ART & FUN... Turn on your stereo [VERY LOUD!] and check out how today's Big Band Music can be transferred into a Remix-version... as a bonus, so to speak, for your continued interest in the VAO as we celebrate our 25th Jubilee!
